Jane Henry, violin (San Antonio)
with Brent Fariss, contrabass; James Alexander, viola;
and Travis Weller, violin

Jane Henry has been composing and improvising her own works for violin since 1991, often performing with live electronics as well as tape and video, and in collaborations with other artists. Her work makes extensive use of overtones, difference tones, microtones, natural harmonics, bowed harmonics, quirky embellishments, glissandi galore, and very high energy, with bowed distortions and distorted bows. Henry has performed numerous solo and collaborative concerts and radio broadcasts throughout Europe and the U.S, including projects with other artists such as Texan 'shamanistic' composer/perfomer Jerry Hunt, Matt Rogalsky (Super Collider), Michael J. Schumacher, Joel Ryan (Super Collider), guitarist Rafael Toral, live electronics constructionists Nic Collins and Sukandar Kartadinata, balloonist Ricardo Arias, violinist Moniek Darge, vocalist Sarmad Brody, and the Moroccan-Dutch band, Weshm.

She will be performing in ensemble with Brent Fariss, James Alexander, and Travis Weller; local composer/performers and members of the Imbroglio String Quartet and the Gates Ensemble.
