Long time colleagues and collaborators Clark Crawford, Brent Fariss, and Bill Thompson have been working with innovative ideas in sound and form for many years. All three composer/performers have worked both in the mediums of acoustic and electroacoustic composition. Despite their shared background under the tutelage of Dr. Russell Riepe and their parallel views of modern music, each individual work is a unique vantage to sound and its possibilities.

The Imbroglio String Quartet is James Alexander, Steve Bernal, Elizabeth Warren and Travis Weller. The quartet was formed in January of 2001 with the goal of exploring ideas for open, experimental, and improvised musics in the context of the traditional ensemble. The members create and interpret pieces ranging from free/structured improvisation to fixed/open compositions. They have collaborated with London free improvisor John Butcher, electroacoustic composer Bill Meadows, the Golden Hornet Project, New Music Co-op, as well as various filmmakers. Their recorded work has been heard at CinemaTexas International Film Festival and SEAMUS.
