Dave Dove

The New Music Co-op Presents: Dave Dove, trombone
Saturday March 1st 2003
1010 Willow Street

As the first installation of the Willow Street Spring Concert Series, improvisor Dave Dove joins us from Houston for a solo performance.

Dave Dove's trombone improvisations can be described as the sound of lips, breath, voice, and tongue amplified through a brass tube. Dave has been playing since the age of 11, performing a diverse range of musical styles. He teaches at MECA, an arts community center in Houston, TX and is the director of the Pauline Oliveros Foundation Houston.

He will be joined by the Imbroglio String Quartet for free improvisation as well as a new composition by Travis Weller for Trombone and String Quartet.
